I have Bipolar 1 "Disorder". I am "in the closet" in my career and need to express myself somewhere where I will not be recognized. My dog Elvis used to be a central part of this blog, but he died. Making comics about bipolar stuff used to be regular on here, but I don't have a scanner at the moment... so mostly writing...

my name is marlena rivers...yeah, sounds like a fake name or porn star name, and it is a fake name. no i'm not a porn actress, but i had to create a name for this blog. because i'm not OUT at work about the bipolar thing... so some of this blog is about the dual identity thing... because it is a trip and i feel like a double agent, posing at work as a "normal" person and out to some friends and family... This blog used to focus on my relationship with my little doggie but he died in 2009. It also used to involve comic strips. I hope to bring that back sometime soon. Meanwhile I'll be focusing on the idea of "hiding" my bipolar disorder and what that is like for me, and if it has changed since having the "baby" who is not a baby any more!

thanks! i wanted to reflect a more realistic view, as not every day is an extreme moodswing and sometimes one can be happy from something as simple as going to a movie with my boyfriend and loving it... life contains some lovely moments...

thanks for all the comments and thanks amateur dancer for the compliments. it feels so great to see people are coming to my blog, less lonely for me and elvis! i guess i fell for unknown white male as the topic was fascinating. it's not on my fave movies and i agree with lash. stranger than fiction is fantastic, brilliant and life affirming which is difficult to do all in one movie, and funny! the only part i didn't like so much was queen latifah's part in it and i'm not too keen on her acting though i like her singing. she doesnt sing in this movie though.
no, elvis mostly sniffs dogs butts. if you're down on the floor he may go sniff a human butt but that's his turf, the floor! denzel is supposed to be a regular guitar but for some reason i seem to have drawn it with two holes. i hesitate to try to analyze that one!! thanks for pointing it out, mo. hope your'e feeling better...

hey marlena this will sound very confusing but whatever you prefer, if you want to reply to my comments here, feel free to do so. Sometimes, only sometimes I leave a remark about something a person said on my blog inside a comment I was gonna make on the person's post anyway. DID YOU UNDERSTAND THAT? cuz i didnt but whatever lol
what i mean is, I hardly EVER respond to people's comments on my blog, yes i'm obnoxious that way, unless there IS a question or something i feel like i have to say. but sometimes i respond on my own blog, like I respond to comments and next second I publish a new post so I'm guessing noone even SEES anything. ohhh how confusing i should be better organized i know hahaha
point is: what i do: i try to leave comments as often as I can because comments made on my blog have been so encouraging and so awesome and so uplifting.
