About Me

my name is marlena rivers...yeah, sounds like a fake name or porn star name, and it is a fake name. no i'm not a porn actress, but i had to create a name for this blog. because i'm not OUT at work about the bipolar thing... so some of this blog is about the dual identity thing... because it is a trip and i feel like a double agent, posing at work as a "normal" person and out to some friends and family... This blog used to focus on my relationship with my little doggie but he died in 2009. It also used to involve comic strips. I hope to bring that back sometime soon. Meanwhile I'll be focusing on the idea of "hiding" my bipolar disorder and what that is like for me, and if it has changed since having the "baby" who is not a baby any more!

hi txandi, i was going to put this in the next post but cannot resist listing my cravings of past weeks so far:
all are foods i do not normally eat or drink regularly
-orange juice
-green apples
-pizza
-eggs
-doritos (this just occured tonight)
-glazed donuts (only in the morning)
these foods listed in the order of frequency of the craving...
so far pickles and ice cream have not occured...
Congrats!! Is it your first child? How exciting!!! I have four kids.
I craved BBQ Potato Chips with my last pregnancy...and my First pregnancy I craved Milk...Go figure!!
You have inspired me to possibly journal through a Comic Strip or drawing of some kind:)

hi dream writer, thanks for the support. i'm glad you are inspired to use drawing in your journaling. yes this is our first and i'm pretty sure it will be the only child we have. i'm happy to just have one and i find going off the meds, trying to get pregnant, dealing with pregnancy and then the whole prospect of having the baby and taking care of him and her-- quite overwhelming and wonderful but only one time for me.
this morning i had two glazed donuts and then went back to sleep for several hours. i'm tired a lot. i pledged to avoid donuts for a week and try to find a healthier alternative...
woops i meant him or her. there is only one in there!

cravings...I ate a billion donuts and prior to that never ate donuts, because I was the head baker and manager in a donut shop...I would wake up in the middle of the night and call the donut shop to make me cinn. and apple filled donuts always a dozen (it was not a normal donut for the store) then I would call the ex (worked midnights) to pick them up on his way home...and I would eat the whole dozen, and not even share, ever. I also craved ice cold water and lemons, I would eat the lemon like an orange, around 4 to 6 each time.

thanks ol lady! wow. this morning i had two donuts at about 7 and then a while later went back to bed. i had two naps today in fact. but i promised myself to avoid donuts for a whole week so tomorrow morning i will have to have something else. time to take my prenatal vitamin. i seem to take it late at night... anyway thanks for the good wishes and support. luckily i have a long time to go before worrying about post partem. one day at a time...
