I have Bipolar 1 "Disorder". I am "in the closet" in my career and need to express myself somewhere where I will not be recognized. My dog Elvis used to be a central part of this blog, but he died. Making comics about bipolar stuff used to be regular on here, but I don't have a scanner at the moment... so mostly writing...

my name is marlena rivers...yeah, sounds like a fake name or porn star name, and it is a fake name. no i'm not a porn actress, but i had to create a name for this blog. because i'm not OUT at work about the bipolar thing... so some of this blog is about the dual identity thing... because it is a trip and i feel like a double agent, posing at work as a "normal" person and out to some friends and family... This blog used to focus on my relationship with my little doggie but he died in 2009. It also used to involve comic strips. I hope to bring that back sometime soon. Meanwhile I'll be focusing on the idea of "hiding" my bipolar disorder and what that is like for me, and if it has changed since having the "baby" who is not a baby any more!

A long time ago in a land far far away...when I was a cow for Baby she would only use one boob! (The left in case ya wanted to know) I tried all kinds of pumps and nothing worked. When she was 3 days old I started giving her rice pablum (sp) in the evening before bed, from the time she was born until I started that she was always hungry, from that day on she slept through the night. I watered it down so it was a thick liquid and put it in a bottle I made the hole in the nipple bigger by putting a darning needle through it. That was back in the 'old days' now the doctors would have a heart attack if you asked them about it.
I also had a wrap that I used to hold her close to me and I could actually nurse while doing other things. I don't know what they are called but I see alot of women in the malls wearing them, I think they might be back in style.
Sounds to me like your doin an awesome job.
hi ol lady, thanks for checking out the boobie comics. i think you mean a sling, for baby and it works for nursing in public. actually i already nursed her in the park once and didnt have a sling. i've lost all modesty since having the baby and being in the hospital. i nurse her in front of anyone who visits and don't use blankets or anything to "hide" the titties. as a cow i don't care what people see and i'm not feeling too sexy anyway...

i need to post again soon. have been literally a boob, either attached to baby or trying to eat or sleep.
have not been very inspired.
anxious and grumpy and slightly depressed, but not the bad kind that would warrant thinking about meds... just sick of the usual ...
got to get geared up for elvis getting a grooming. the groomer comes to the house. it's an ordeal as he hates having his haircut and now we'll have baby screaming in the mix. lovely!
