I have Bipolar 1 "Disorder". I am "in the closet" in my career and need to express myself somewhere where I will not be recognized. My dog Elvis used to be a central part of this blog, but he died. Making comics about bipolar stuff used to be regular on here, but I don't have a scanner at the moment... so mostly writing...

my name is marlena rivers...yeah, sounds like a fake name or porn star name, and it is a fake name. no i'm not a porn actress, but i had to create a name for this blog. because i'm not OUT at work about the bipolar thing... so some of this blog is about the dual identity thing... because it is a trip and i feel like a double agent, posing at work as a "normal" person and out to some friends and family... This blog used to focus on my relationship with my little doggie but he died in 2009. It also used to involve comic strips. I hope to bring that back sometime soon. Meanwhile I'll be focusing on the idea of "hiding" my bipolar disorder and what that is like for me, and if it has changed since having the "baby" who is not a baby any more!

catherine, frequent napping, sort of happened when i wasn't pregnant but i didn't have the nice excuse. i think the napping is a little more frequent.
my favorite thing is that i can leave social occasions whenever i want by saying i'm tired and people are completely understanding. great way to give in to my anti-social tendencies. and i can refuse to go out to events based on tiredness too!
nicole, you're not a wuss. the fifth week is worse than the 10th, really. i was lucky not to get nauseous at all, but i had terrible indigestion pains after eating meals. indulge yourself!

don't know yet if it's a he or a she. denzel wants to be surprised, i need to know, so i will not let people know unless he changes his mind and wants the news... so you might have to wait til s/he emerges to find out!
i want to relate to the baby inside me and imagine him or her more clearly and call him or her by the name we already picked out, so i may be doing it silently!
